Glamorgan secured a commanding 106-run victory over Derbyshire, marking their third consecutive win in the Women's MetroBank One Day Cup. The match took place in Duffield, where Glamorgan posted a total of 238 for 8 in their allotted 50 overs.

All-rounder Bethan Ellis, on loan from Warwickshire, was instrumental in Glamorgan's success, contributing significantly with both bat and ball. Ellis scored a robust 75 runs, while captain Lauren Parfitt added 71 runs to the team's total. Rhiannon Knowling-Davies impressed with the ball, taking 5 wickets for 36 runs, effectively curbing Glamorgan's innings at critical moments.

In response, Derbyshire managed only 132 runs before being bowled out in 41.5 overs. Gemma Porter was the standout bowler for Glamorgan, claiming 4 wickets for 19 runs, complemented by Ellis's 3 wickets for 30 runs.

Match Highlights

The hosts struggled from early on, particularly after Parfitt and Ellis put together a substantial partnership of 153 runs for the second wicket in just 31 overs. Parfitt was notable for hitting the only two sixes of the match. However, following Parfitt's dismissal, Derbyshire's bowling attack triggered a collapse, largely due to the efforts of 21-year-old seamer Knowling-Davies, who took seven wickets for just 39 runs during this period.

Charlotte Lambert's unbeaten 20 was the third-highest individual score for Glamorgan, providing some resistance at the end of the innings.

Derbyshire began their innings cautiously against Glamorgan bowlers Lambert and Eve Jackson, with Jackson bowling five maiden overs in her first six. The team reached 49 runs before losing their second wicket. The economical bowling of Porter and Ellis maintained Glamorgan's control throughout the innings. Frances Lonsdale's 17 runs were the highest individual score for Derbyshire apart from extras.

Additionally, Scotland's Megan McColl made her debut for Glamorgan and took her first wicket, marking a positive start to her tenure with the team.
