Trains running to and from London Liverpool Street station were stopped on 18 July 2026 after a trackside fire near Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire. Greater Anglia said at 14:57 BST that the fire had halted all train movements.
The rail operator said the London Fire Brigade had requested trains be stopped because of multiple fires close to the railway lines. Services to and from Stansted Airport in Essex, Cambridge North, Meridian Water in Hertfordshire and Hertford East were all affected.
Further trains would be delayed, cancelled or diverted via Seven Sisters, a spokesperson added.
London Fire Brigade said fourteen engines were being used to tackle a grass fire near Lea Road in Waltham Abbey.
