Four men have been charged after cannabis plants with a street value of at least £1.3m were discovered in the Scottish Borders. More than 1,600 plants were found after police searched premises in Dovecote Street, Hawick, at about 13:40 on Thursday.
The men, aged 45, 42, 41 and 35, were reported to the procurator fiscal and appeared at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Friday.
“This was a significant recovery which demonstrates our continued commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country's Serious Organised Crime Strategy.”
Ch Insp David Rourke made the statement following the operation, which led to the recovery of the cannabis plants worth at least £1.3m.
