RGC Wing Caio Parry Scores 10th Try of Season at Ebbw Vale

Ebbw Vale missed the opportunity to secure first place in Super Rygbi Cymru after being defeated by Rygbi Gogledd Cymru (RGC) at Eugene Cross Park.

Second-placed Cardiff narrowed the gap to three points by defeating Newport on Thursday night, while Ebbw Vale suffered their second consecutive home loss.

RGC rose to fifth in the league table with an impressive 18-10 victory, secured by tries from wing Caio Parry and scrum-half Conor Dever, along with eight points from fly-half Billy McBryde's kicking.

The North Wales team will enter the final round of fixtures, hosting Bridgend in Colwyn Bay, aiming to maintain sixth place to avoid the wildcard round of the play-offs.

Meanwhile, Ebbw Vale must win at Carmarthen Quins to prevent Cardiff, who finish their season at Swansea, from overtaking them for first place.

Cardiff Secures Top-Two Finish with Win Over Newport

The Blue and Blacks confirmed a top-two finish and the possibility of a home semi-final by defeating Newport 40-27. Tries were scored by flanker Ben Fry (2), wing Tom Bowen, centre Steffan Emanuel, and full-back Matty Young.

Newport's flanker Hunter Ward (2) and wing Chay Foster-Smith scored tries for the Black and Ambers, who can secure third place with a victory against Pontypool when they defend the SRC Challenger Shield at Rodney Parade on Thursday.

Llandovery and Pooler Results Impact Standings

Fourth-placed Llandovery failed to surpass Newport after a surprising 40-24 loss to bottom club Pooler.

Pooler recorded their fourth win of the season by scoring six tries, leaving Llandovery, who earned a four-try bonus, with a challenging task at Aberavon next weekend to avoid being overtaken by Swansea.

This occurred despite fifth-placed Whites losing 34-33 to Bridgend in Dunvant, with wing Cameron Ellis scoring the decisive try for the Ravens.

Aberavon and Carmarthen Quins Match Outcome

Aberavon secured a 20-15 victory over seventh-placed Carmarthen Quins, who now must defeat leaders Ebbw Vale next week to have a chance of surpassing RGC and avoiding the wildcard round.
