John Cartwright to Depart Hull FC After Two Seasons

Hull FC head coach John Cartwright will depart the club at the conclusion of the 2026 season, ending his two-year tenure with the Black and Whites.

The Australian coach assumed the role ahead of the 2025 season following a difficult 2024 campaign for Hull FC, during which the team secured only three victories in Super League matches.

Under Cartwright's leadership, the team showed significant improvement in 2025, finishing just three points shy of qualifying for the play-offs.

Hull FC's start to the 2026 season has been mixed, with three wins and four losses in their first seven games.

Club Statement on Cartwright's Contribution

Richie Myler, the club's chief executive officer, acknowledged Cartwright's role during a challenging period for the club.

"John joined the club during a challenging period and has played an important role in restoring stability and competitiveness on the field,"

Myler added that the board wishes to formally thank Cartwright for his efforts.

"The board would like to place on record its sincere thanks for John's contribution during his time with the club."
