Trump Secures Fourth German Masters Title
World number one Judd Trump secured his first trophy since the UK Championship in November 2024 by defeating Shaun Murphy 10-4 in the German Masters final held in Berlin.
This victory marks Trump's record-extending fourth title at the German Masters, having previously won the event in 2020, 2021, and 2024.
Match Progression
The 36-year-old Trump started strongly, winning the first two frames with breaks of 101 and 71. Murphy responded by leveling the match at 2-2 before Trump regained control to lead 5-3 at the interval.
Murphy, a former world champion, was aiming to claim the Brandon Parker Trophy, awarded in memory of his friend and manager who played a significant role in promoting the Berlin tournament before his death from cancer in 2020.
Beginning the evening session with determination, Murphy made a break of 60 to take control of the ninth frame. However, Trump returned to the table and completed a clearance, initiating a sequence of four consecutive frame wins that brought him close to victory.
Despite Murphy's resilience, including a comeback from 51 points behind to win frame 13 on the black ball, Trump secured the match in the following frame.
