Permanent Transfer Confirmed for Leo Walta
Swansea City have officially confirmed the permanent acquisition of midfielder Leo Walta from Swedish club Sirius for an undisclosed fee.
Walta, aged 23, is reported to have signed a three-year contract with an option to extend for an additional 12 months. He initially joined the Championship side on loan in February.
The club had previously stated that the loan move would become permanent in the summer "subject to conditions".
Player's Impact and Performance
The Finland international has demonstrated patience since his arrival at Swansea, having made 10 appearances during the last three months of the previous season, with only three starts.
Walta concluded the 2025-26 campaign on a high note by scoring an impressive free-kick against Charlton Athletic on the final day.
Background and Future Prospects
Walta joined Swansea following a strong final season in Sweden, where he netted 17 goals across all competitions.
He aims to make a more significant impact at Swansea in the 2026-27 season after participating in his first pre-season with the club.
