Newport County to Host Roma in Pre-Season
Newport County have announced a home pre-season friendly against the Italian Serie A club Roma. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, 4 August at Rodney Parade, serving as a significant warm-up for Newport's 2026-27 League Two season.
Roma will be in Wales for an eight-day training camp at the end of July. During this period, they will also play a friendly against Cardiff City on Saturday, 1 August.
In addition to the Newport fixture, Roma's pre-season includes a match against French side Cannes on 26 July and a trip to face Borussia Dortmund on 15 August.
Newport County's first competitive match of the upcoming season will be against AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Cup on 8 August. Following that, they will host Rochdale on Saturday, 15 August, marking their opening League Two game.
Recently, Chris Todd was appointed as Newport County's caretaker manager after the departure of Christian Fuchs last month.
