Football Fan Transforms Garden with St George's Crosses
Alfie Patterson, a football enthusiast from Blyth, Northumberland, has adorned nearly every part of his garden and decking with St George's crosses in support of the England football team, despite his wife's reservations.
His garden features numerous England flags, and even the garden gnomes are dressed in England kits, creating a vibrant football-themed atmosphere.
The decorated space is intended for Alfie’s family and friends to gather and watch England's World Cup quarter-final match against Norway, scheduled to start at 22:00 BST.

Wife’s Disapproval and Compromise on Decking
Alfie acknowledged that his wife was
"a little bit upset"about him painting her favourite decking in red and white colours. However, they reached a compromise when he promised to repaint the decking all-white by Christmas.
He explained,
"It's going to look like snow and give the winter effect, so now she's quite happy."
Family, Football, and Personal Interests
Alfie shared that his life
"revolves around my grandchildren and football". He gave up his 34-year passion for caring for racing pigeons to spend more time with his family.
Thoughts on England vs Norway Match
Alfie expressed his belief that England's best chance to counter Norway's striker Erling Haaland, who plays for Manchester City, lies with defender Dan Burn from Newcastle United.
The winner of the England-Norway match will advance to face either Argentina or Switzerland in the semi-finals on 15 July.
Although Alfie is a Sunderland AFC supporter, he mentioned that the match outcome would be a
"win-win"for him since he placed a side bet on Norway.
