Ezri Konsa and Nico O'Reilly are both uncertain to feature in England's Nations League encounter with the Czech Republic on Tuesday evening, following their involvement in Saturday's 3-2 defeat to Spain.
The two players were the only members of the England squad absent from training on Monday morning, as they undertook separate conditioning work away from the main group. Both had completed the full 90 minutes during the loss at Wembley to the World Cup holders.
O'Reilly, who plays for Manchester City, operated at left-back—a role he established as his own throughout the World Cup campaign. Should he be unavailable, Lewis Hall would be positioned to step into the position. The defender's error directly contributed to Alex Baena equalising at 2-2 before Spain secured their victory.
Konsa, Arsenal's centre-back, has emerged as one of Thomas Tuchel's most relied-upon defenders, starting in seven of England's eight matches during the World Cup. If the 26-year-old is ruled out, Jarrad Branthwaite presents an alternative option after coming on as a substitute for Marc Guehi late in the Spain match.
England face a demanding schedule across this international window, with four fixtures planned. Following Saturday's setback, the team will contest two matches against the Czech Republic—one at home and one away—with a trip to Rijeka to face Croatia sandwiched between those encounters.
