Fenerbahce Negotiates £7m Deal for Nathan Ake
Fenerbahce are currently engaged in discussions with Manchester City regarding a £7 million transfer for Dutch defender Nathan Ake.
The Turkish club has announced that personal terms have been agreed upon with the 31-year-old player. However, sources close to indicate that the transfer details are still being finalized.
It is anticipated that the negotiations will conclude soon, with the transfer potentially reaching a total value of up to £8.5 million including add-ons.
Player Background and Recent Performances
Ake participated in three matches for the Netherlands at the 2026 FIFA World Cup before their elimination in the round of 32 by Morocco.
Fenerbahce presidential candidate Aziz Yildirim has expressed strong interest in securing Ake's signature. The defender joined Manchester City from Bournemouth in 2020 for a £40 million fee and has made 177 appearances for the club to date.
With one year remaining on his contract and limited playing time under Pep Guardiola in his final season, Ake was expected to be sold this summer. Last season, he started 17 matches across all competitions, including six in the Premier League.
"The player, who wore the jersey in the 2026 Fifa World Cup, will join our team in the Austria camp following the permission process,"Fenerbahce stated.
