Adele Nicoll Retains Welsh Shot Put Title
Adele Nicoll, a three-time UK shot put champion, successfully defended her Welsh Athletics Championships title with a best throw of 16.96 meters.
The 29-year-old Winter Olympian, who competed in both the mono bob and two-women bobsleigh events at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics in February, had withdrawn from the UK Championships last weekend due to injury.
Returning to competition at Leckwith, Cardiff, Nicoll delivered a series of competitive throws, with her winning effort achieved in the second round.
"While the distance wasn't what I wanted, we did see the consistent technique," said Nicoll.
"My goal is to be ready for the Commonwealth Games and throw far in Glasgow."
