A woman has died following a single-vehicle collision in Glasgow that resulted in three other people requiring hospital treatment. According to BBC News, the incident occurred on Kennishead Road in Thornliebank at approximately 19:25 on Sunday, involving a black Vauxhall Astra.
Emergency services pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Two additional women, one aged 18 and the other 33, along with the male driver aged 20, were transported to hospital for medical care. The road remained closed for approximately nine hours while emergency response and investigation work took place at the location.
Kennishead Road has since reopened to traffic. Police Scotland have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision and are seeking information from members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have relevant details.
Sergeant John Houston of Police Scotland stated:
Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who has died at this difficult time.
This incident adds to a series of serious traffic collisions affecting the Glasgow and wider central Scotland region in recent months. A previous collision on Balmore Road in Glasgow in June resulted in a patient death and three injuries following an ambulance-car collision, highlighting ongoing road safety concerns in the area.
