Two Injured After Knifeman Threatens People in Brighton Street

Two people were injured after a man threatened others with a knife in Brighton. A 33-year-old was arrested, and police are seeking witnesses to the incident on Sillwood Road.

Incident in Brighton Under Investigation

Sussex Police are currently investigating an incident that occurred on Sillwood Road in Brighton, where two individuals sustained injuries following reports of a man threatening people with a knife.

The event took place at approximately 18:00 BST on Saturday, when members of the public intervened and restrained the suspect by tackling him to the ground.

One male victim was transported to hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries and has since been discharged. Details regarding the condition of the second injured person have not yet been released by the police.

A 33-year-old man from the local area was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. Authorities also confiscated a knife believed to be connected to the incident.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Inspector Jen Pietersen described the event as "distressing" and has called on anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward with information.

"This was a distressing incident and we are keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened," said Det Insp Jen Pietersen.
