Man Charged Over Fatal Crash in Broughty Ferry

A 55-year-old man has appeared in court accused of causing the death of a pensioner by striking him with a stolen vehicle in Broughty Ferry.

Fraser Garden faces charges of stealing the car before losing control, driving at speed into a garden, and trapping the 74-year-old victim against a house, which led to the man's death.

Garden, who has no fixed address, is also charged with failing to stop to provide his name and address, refusing to undergo a blood test, and failing to report the collision.

He entered no plea during the court appearance and was remanded in custody.

Details of the Incident

The collision occurred on Forthill Road around 13:00 on Monday and involved a red Maserati Quattroporte.

The road remained closed for over seven hours as police conducted their investigation into the incident.
