Embarrassing Epstein Email Revelations Involving Sarah Ferguson and Royal Family
For Sarah Ferguson and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, the latest release of Jeffrey Epstein's emails is likely to cause further embarrassment. Alongside a controversial photo of former Prince Andrew, who appears to kneel over a woman lying on the ground, the emails repeatedly mention Andrew's ex-wife and daughters.
The former Duchess of York, who has faced her own controversies related to Epstein, is seen in the emails praising the late convicted sex offender as the "brother I have always wished for." The correspondence also provides additional insight into her financial dealings with Epstein and her requests for money from him.
Her daughters are also implicated in the scandal, including a notable email exchange referencing Princess Eugenie's "shagging weekend." All exchanges are dated after Epstein's 2008 conviction for prostituting minors. The emails do not indicate any wrongdoing by those mentioned.
Prince Andrew has consistently and strenuously denied any wrongdoing. His office has been contacted for comment, as have representatives of Sarah Ferguson.
Details of Ferguson's Friendship and Financial Requests
Several emails highlight the closeness of Ferguson's friendship with Epstein. In a 2009 email, the then-Duchess of York enthusiastically updates Epstein on business opportunities for her brands and books, writing:
"In just one week, after your lunch, it seems the energy has lifted. I have never been more touched by a friends [sic] kindness than your compliment to me infront of my girls. Thank you Jeffrey for being the brother I have always wished for."
In 2010, another email from "Sarah" to Epstein expresses affection and gratitude:
"You are a legend. I really don't have the words to describe, my love, gratitude for your generosity and kindness. Xx I am at your service . Just marry me."
The newly released emails also suggest Epstein sought Ferguson's help to clear his name. At the time, Epstein had been accused of abusing dozens of teenage girls between 1999 and 2007. He reached a plea deal in 2008, pleading guilty to lesser state charges and serving 13 months in jail.
One email from March 2011, believed to be from Epstein to three others including his publicist, states:
"I think Fergie can now say, I am not a pedo. She was DUPED into believing false stories."
The email suggests Ferguson could claim she was "told horrible things and she reacted." Epstein's publicist Mike Sitrick responded that their strategy was to "get newspapers to stop calling you a pedophile and get the truth out," with one tactic being "get Fergie to retract."
In April 2011, a "Sarah" emailed Epstein denying she had or would call him a "P," stating she acted to "protect my own brand."
Financial Struggles and Rent Request
In 2009, following the failure of a business venture, Ferguson appears to have written to Epstein requesting funds:
"I urgently need 20,000 pounds ($27,521) for rent today. The landlord has threatened to go to the newspapers if I don't pay. Any brainwaves?"
This email exchange began between Epstein and David Stern, a lawyer and former NBA commissioner. Stern sent Epstein an ABC News article dated 2 October 2009 titled "Duchess of Debt? Closure of Sarah Ferguson's Business," questioning whether Ferguson's finances were "in jeopardy." Epstein replied, "You have a rat," copying Ferguson into the chain, and suggested the leak came from "disgruntled investors... or others that are owed money," advising caution in responding.
Ferguson replied, naming an investor who had "broken a confidentiality agreement," adding, "ABC and all this is being handled by my lawyer." It was at this point she requested the rent money. The conversation appears to end there.
Elsewhere in the emails are lawyers' letters about deals to pay off Ferguson's creditors and an email from Epstein claiming to have helped her financially for 15 years.
Mentions of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie
Both Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are named at various points in the emails. One email from Epstein to a redacted address on 21 March 2010 simply reads "ny?" The reply, also from a redacted address, states:
"Not sure yet. Just waiting for Eugenie to come back from a shagging weekend!!"
No further context is provided, and due to redactions, it is unclear if the reply was written by Sarah Ferguson.
Princess Eugenie is the youngest daughter of Ferguson and Andrew-Mountbatten Windsor and is currently 12th in line to the throne. She met her husband, Jack Brooksbank, on a skiing trip in Switzerland in 2010.
In another email from 1 July 2010, Epstein contacted Ferguson saying he would be in London that week and aske...
