Body-worn camera footage captured the moment a drug dealer attempted to escape from police officers on foot while using a fast food delivery courier disguise as cover for his illegal operations.
Nahro Gharib, aged 25, ran from the scene after officers observed him conducting what they identified as an illicit exchange. The incident was documented through police body-worn cameras, providing clear evidence of his attempted evasion.
South Wales Police later examined Gharib's bicycle and discovered it had been modified to reach speeds of 59mph (95km/h), significantly exceeding the legal limit of 15.5mph for such vehicles. This modification suggested the bike had been deliberately enhanced, potentially to facilitate rapid escapes or swift drug deliveries across Cardiff.
Gharib, who resided in Cyncoed, Cardiff, faced multiple charges relating to his drug trafficking operation. At Newport Crown Court, he received a custodial sentence of 20 months and was additionally disqualified from driving for a period of 17 months.
