Dramatic Rescue After Car Lands Upside Down in Stream

The driver of a vehicle that left the road and ended up upside down in a stream became the focus of a dramatic rescue operation as water began to fill the car.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service reported that crews responded to a crash involving a car which rolled down an embankment in Pengenffordd, Powys, at 19:45 GMT on 31 January.

The individual was trapped inside the vehicle while water entered it. The fire service noted that due to the rapidly rising water level in the stream, a swift extraction was necessary.

The person exited the car with minor injuries and received treatment from paramedics. Fire crews departed the scene at approximately 21:51.

The teams from Talgarth and Crickhowell fire stations employed e-draulic cutting equipment, lifejackets, one spineboard, lighting, and a short-extension ladder during the response to the incident.
