Fire Causes Severe Damage at Southampton General Hospital
New video footage and photographs have been released, revealing the extensive damage caused by a fire at Southampton General Hospital.
A major incident was declared on Sunday following a blaze that erupted in the endoscopy unit at approximately 05:30 GMT.
The University Hospital Southampton (UHS) NHS Foundation Trust reported that the unit, located in the west wing of the building, was "completely gutted," with additional areas also sustaining damage.
Images published on Monday illustrate the destruction resulting from the fire, which could render some sections of the hospital non-operational for several months.
