Tim Wheeler on the Versatility of 'Shining Light'
The hit song Shining Light has "worked well in a lot of places," according to singer Tim Wheeler. However, performing it in a BBC CBeebies studio alongside the puppet Dodge T. Dog for the channel's Big Songs for Little Learners series was not something he had anticipated.

Wheeler is the singer and guitarist for the band Ash, which was formed in Downpatrick in County Down in 1992. Shining Light is one of 18 songs by the band that have reached the UK top 40 singles charts.
Meaning and Impact of the Song
"It's a song that has a lot of positivity,"Wheeler explained.
"In this episode, Dodge needs some confidence - which he gets back by us singing it together."
Shining Light reached number eight in the UK charts after its release in January 2001. Wheeler shared more about the song's origins and journey:
"I wrote it as a love song a long time ago,"he said.
"But it's had a strange life of its own where it's worked in lots of different places!"
