Oscar-winning songwriter Glen Hansard, who was also the singer for Irish rock group The Frames, has died in a motorbike crash in his home city of Dublin.
Hansard, who was 56, won the best song Oscar for the 2007 low-budget musical film Once.
Born in Dublin in 1970, Hansard busked on the city’s streets before landing the role of Outspan in the 1991 film The Commitments.
