Lauren Price Retains World Champion Title
Lauren Price has successfully defended her world champion title after winning her bout on Saturday night against Stephanie Pineiro.
The atmosphere in Cardiff was electric as Price made her entrance to the singing of 'Yma o Hyd' by Dafydd Iwan.
Despite having previously secured an Olympic gold medal and holding the WBA, IBF, and WBC titles, Price had to fight hard to secure the victory on Saturday night.
The Welsh boxer endured several heavy blows to her face during the match.
Following the bout, Price faced off against Claressa Shields, who has won 15 world titles across five different weight divisions, with both expressing interest in challenging each other.
Shields said that the location of any potential fight would need to be discussed but suggested a possible meeting in late 2026 and mentioned that the fight would be in the middleweight category.
