Craig Bellamy witnessed Wales suffer a heavy 7-0 defeat against nine-time champions Spain in the opening match of the UEFA Men's Under-19 Championships.
Bellamy, the senior Wales manager whose anticipated move to Burnley collapsed earlier in the week, was among the 3,606 spectators at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground to observe a clinical Spanish performance.
Wales were outmatched by an impressive Spain side, enduring their heaviest competitive defeat at Under-19 level since 2021.
Chris Gunter's squad will next face Germany at the Racecourse Ground on Wednesday, while Spain will play Denmark in the other Group A fixture on the same day.

The match marked the commencement of the eight-team tournament hosted in North Wales during the Football Association of Wales' (FAW) 150th anniversary year.

Spain's Xavi Espart registered the first significant attempt when his powerful shot struck the crossbar within the opening 12 minutes.
Four minutes later, Spain took the lead through Daniel Yanez, whose deflected shot left Wales goalkeeper Luis Lines with no chance.
Following the goal, Wales enjoyed a promising spell, but Spain quickly doubled their advantage as Barcelona's Xavi Espart cut inside the area and unleashed an unstoppable shot.
Spain's potent attacking display continued with two goals from Betis winger Jose Antonio Morante. His first goal came from a shot inside the area that took a deflection to make it 3-0, and he scored his second eight minutes later with a strike from outside the box.
Spain extended their lead a minute into the second half when captain Quim Junyent scored with an exquisite lob from a tight angle.
Substitute Sergio Esteban added Spain's sixth goal with 13 minutes remaining, before Diego Aguedo completed the scoring with a seventh goal.
