Welsh Cup Semi-Final Lineup Confirmed
Rhyl 1879, Bangor City, Caernarfon Town, and Flint Town United have all secured victories to advance to the JD Welsh Cup semi-finals.
Rhyl 1879, a second-tier phoenix club, will face Cymru Premier side Caernarfon Town in the semi-finals. Rhyl 1879 caused a major upset in the quarter-finals by defeating six-time winners Barry Town 2-1 and will look to replicate that success when the semi-finals take place from 6-8 March.
Flint Town United, another Cymru Premier team, will compete against third-tier Bangor 1876, who themselves created a surprise by beating Cymru South side Caerau Ely 3-1 in the quarter-finals.
Flint Town United secured their place in the final four by defeating third-tier Trearddur Bay 3-0. Meanwhile, Caernarfon Town comfortably overcame Colwyn Bay 4-1 in the only all-Cymru Premier quarter-final tie.
This results in four North Wales teams contesting the semi-finals, all aiming to reach the final scheduled for Sunday, 12 April, at Newport County's Rodney Parade, with kickoff at 15:15 GMT.
