Kalvin Phillips Set for Loan to Sheffield United
Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips is poised to complete a loan transfer to Sheffield United.
Currently out of favour at the Etihad Stadium, Phillips is expected to depart before the transfer deadline at 19:00 GMT on Monday.
The 30-year-old has agreed to join Bramall Lane until the end of the season, with the Championship club working to finalise the arrangement for the former England international.
Phillips has made just one appearance this season, featuring for the final seven minutes in City's Carabao Cup victory over Huddersfield in September.
Since joining Pep Guardiola's squad from his boyhood club Leeds United in 2022 for a £45 million fee, Phillips has been loaned out previously to Ipswich Town and West Ham United.
In December 2022, Guardiola publicly criticized Phillips for returning from the World Cup "overweight" and "not in the right condition to train."
Throughout his time at Manchester City, Phillips has made 32 appearances and was part of the squad that achieved a historic Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup treble in 2023.
