Donegal maintain perfect Division One record with win over Mayo

Donegal secured their third consecutive victory in Division One with a 1-19 to 0-14 win against Mayo at a sold-out O'Donnell Park. The team demonstrated control throughout the match, extending their unbeaten run in the league.

A second-half resurgence by Armagh was insufficient as they suffered a second straight Division One defeat, losing 3-18 to 0-24 against Roscommon at Dr Hyde Park.

In Division Two, Tyrone recorded their first win of the season, delivering an impressive 2-23 to 1-14 victory over Cavan, who remain joint bottom of the table alongside Offaly.

Fermanagh continue to struggle in Division Three, remaining at the bottom after a 2-18 to 0-18 loss to Clare at Brewster Park.

Similarly, Antrim have yet to secure a point in Division Four, falling 1-27 to 1-14 to Longford in Portglenone.

Donegal set the tone early against Mayo

It took nine minutes for the first score of the game to arrive in Letterkenny. After a cautious start, two points each from Conor McCahill and Oisín Gallen propelled Donegal into an early lead.

Ryan O'Donoghue finally put Mayo on the scoreboard in the 16th minute with a two-point free, but it was not until the 27th minute that Mayo registered a score from play.

Gallen contributed five points in the first half, helping Donegal to lead 0-11 to 0-5 at halftime.

Mayo had opportunities to reduce the deficit early in the second half, but goal attempts by Darragh Beirne, Conor Loftus, and Ryan O'Donoghue were all well saved by Gavin Mulreaney.

Ryan McHugh added a superb two-pointer to extend Donegal's lead before Paedar Mogan assisted Conor O'Donnell, who punched the ball into the net for Donegal's goal.

McCahill and Finbarr Roarty added further points, giving Donegal a 1-16 to 0-8 lead midway through the second half.

Andy Moran's Mayo side responded with three consecutive scores, but Beirne was denied a goal again by Mulreaney's brave save.

Late points from McCahill and O'Donnell secured a comfortable victory for Jim McGuinness' team ahead of their upcoming match against Armagh.

Armagh fightback falls short against Roscommon

A disallowed goal in the second half by Armagh's Ross McQuillan proved decisive, but Roscommon established a strong foundation for victory in the first half.

Diarmuid Murtagh set the tone with a two-pointer in the opening minute, and after Oisin O'Neill scored for Armagh, Roscommon's captain was put through for a goal in the third minute.

The hosts extended their lead when Blaine Hughes' kick-out was mishandled, allowing Enda Smith to score a goal.

The teams exchanged points before Murtagh added another two-pointer. Dylan Ruane's attempt for a third goal for Roscommon was denied by the crossbar.

Roscommon continued to pull ahead with a free from Daire Cregg and a third two-pointer from Murtagh, this time from a free kick.

Armagh responded with points from Cian McConville and Ross McQuillan, but Cregg's two-pointer and additional scores extended Roscommon's lead to 14 points.

Armagh managed a brief rally with three points, but a Cregg free just before halftime gave Roscommon a commanding 2-14 to 0-8 advantage.

Smith increased the lead immediately after the break, but Armagh responded with six consecutive points, including back-to-back two-pointers from Oisin O'Neill.

In the 47th minute, McQuillan appeared to score a goal for Armagh, but it was disallowed due to a rule infringement, resulting in a four-point swing that proved crucial.

Roscommon's third goal came in the 61st minute, with substitutes Jack Duggan and Paul Carey combining for the score.
