Witness Reports Teenager's Shout After Stabbing on Irvine Beach

A teenager holding a knife was heard shouting "I have just done him" shortly after a 16-year-old boy was fatally stabbed on Irvine Beach, according to a witness statement.

Kayden Moy suffered fatal injuries during the incident on 17 May 2025.

Jay Stewart, 18, and a 15-year-old boy are currently on trial at the High Court in Glasgow, facing charges of murder.

Cole Turley, 18, pleaded guilty to the murder charge prior to the trial. The two teenagers on trial have submitted a special defence of incrimination against Turley.

Witness Account of the Incident

Kelsey Robinson, 24, testified that she was walking on the beach with her partner and baby on the night of the stabbing when three teenagers ran towards her.

She described one of the teenagers as topless and carrying a knife, appearing to be proud of something.

The charge alleges that Stewart and the 15-year-old, acting in concert with Cole Turley, pursued Moy, causing him to fall before repeatedly stabbing him.

It is further alleged that Stewart and the other teenager harboured prior ill-will and malice towards Moy.

Robinson recounted hearing loud shouting and screaming from the sand dunes, which she compared to a "school fight."

She believed she saw someone being punched and the assailant fleeing before the three teenagers ran in her direction, one holding a knife.

She added that the boy stabbed the knife into the grass, describing it as similar to a kitchen knife with a black handle.

When questioned by prosecutor Liam Ewing KC about the teenager's actions with the knife, Robinson responded:

"Maybe cleaning it."

Teenager Yelled 'One-Nil'

Earlier testimony revealed that Turley, Stewart, and the 15-year-old were members of The Murray Boys gang based in East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire.

Moy and his associates were identified as members of the rival Himshie gang.

Robinson stated that as the trio passed her, she heard the teenager with the knife shout:

"I have just done him."

She described his demeanor as proud, saying he acted like:

"it was something to shout and boast about, not like a panic."

The witness also recalled the teenager shouting:

"one-nil."

Accounts of a 'Panicked State'

Jemma Bruce, 23, told jurors that she and a friend were approached by the three teenagers.

She described them as frantic and:

"in a panicked state covered in blood."

Bruce said one of the teenagers concealed a knife in his waistband before asking where they could find a taxi.

She added:

"I thought they had been stabbed and we were concerned."

The court viewed a video taken by Bruce's friend showing the trio.

Bruce claimed she heard one of the teenagers say:

"They just took a picture of us."

The teenagers were later reported to have hidden in bushes.

Paramedic's Account of the Scene

Craig Stroat, 56, the first paramedic to arrive, described finding Moy:

"unconscious, unresponsive and not breathing very well at all."

Stroat administered oxygen to aid Moy's breathing, but Moy soon went into cardiac arrest.

He and his colleague performed CPR on Moy, who had a stab wound on his left side.

The trial, presided over by Judge Lord Scott, is ongoing.
