Bottled Water Stations Established Across Kent

Six bottled water stations have been set up throughout Kent as supply disruptions continue to affect South East Water customers.

On Friday, South East Water reported that nearly 18,000 properties across the county were experiencing issues including no water supply, low water pressure, or intermittent availability.

Cause and Company Response

The company attributed the problems to increased demand during the week-long heatwave and urged customers who still have access to water to limit their usage to essential activities such as drinking, washing, and cooking.

"We urge customers who still have a water supply to only use it for essential purposes, such as drinking, washing and cooking."

South East Water stated that these issues occurred despite its preparations for hot weather, which involved increasing output at its water treatment works and adding more water into the distribution network.

Some villages began experiencing water supply difficulties as early as 23 May.

Details of Bottled Water Stations

The bottled water stations will operate daily from 09:00 to 21:00 BST. Locations of these stations have been established to assist affected residents.
