Search Suspended for Man in Norfolk Broads

Extensive searches for a man who encountered difficulties in the water in the Norfolk Broads have been suspended, according to the Coastguard.

Norfolk Police reported they were called to Ferry Road, Surlingham, following concerns for the man's safety at approximately 14:33 BST on Friday.

Emergency services including fire, ambulance, air ambulance, and coastguard attended the scene.

Coastguard Updates on Search Efforts

In an update issued on Saturday morning, HM Coastguard stated that it suspended its search at around 21:00 on Friday, pending any new information.

The Coastguard confirmed that after conducting an "extensive search," it had ceased its response and was no longer present at the location.

"A HM Coastguard helicopter was sent as well as Coastguard rescue teams from Gorleston and Winterton, and Hemsby Inshore Rescue Service.
Following an extensive search, HM Coastguard suspended its response at about 21:00 pending any new information."

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, which also responded to the incident, received a stop message at 21:30 on Friday.
