Fishing Boat Sinks in Carlingford Lough
The body of a man has been recovered following the sinking of a fishing boat carrying two individuals in Carlingford Lough.
A search operation commenced after the vessel encountered difficulties near Greencastle Point in County Down on Tuesday.
One man was rescued by a local boat and subsequently transferred to paramedic care at Greenore harbour.
The Irish Coast Guard received an emergency call from a member of the public at 12:30 BST on Tuesday.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) stated:
"As a result of these searches, sadly, the body of a man was located."
Police further noted that the death
"is not being treated as suspicious at this time, however, a post-mortem will take place in due course".
The Marine Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Belfast was responsible for coordinating the response efforts.

Emergency Response and Rescue Efforts
The Irish Coast Guard deployed its helicopter Rescue 116, based in Dublin, along with the Greenore Coast Guard unit.
An RNLI lifeboat from Kilkeel was dispatched, supported by Coastguard rescue teams from Newcastle and Kilkeel.
Additionally, a Royal Navy helicopter assisted in the search and rescue operation.
