Man Convicted for 2003 Rape After Wrongful Imprisonment of Another
A man has been found guilty of a rape for which an innocent individual was imprisoned for 17 years.
Paul Quinn, aged 52, denied the assault on a woman in Little Hulton, Salford, in 2003, an attack for which Andrew Malkinson was wrongly convicted.
During proceedings at Manchester Crown Court, jurors heard that Quinn, a father of six, had his DNA discovered on the victim's vest. It was also revealed that he had conducted online searches regarding the duration police retain DNA samples.
Quinn, who currently resides in Exeter, Devon, and was formerly from Little Hulton, Salford, was additionally found guilty of strangulation and grievous bodily harm.
