Man Charged Following Town Centre Collision

A man has been charged with five counts of attempted murder after a vehicle struck a group of pedestrians in a town centre.

Nottinghamshire Police reported that one man sustained life-threatening injuries and remains critically ill in hospital after being hit by a Vauxhall Astra in Market Place, Arnold, at approximately 01:10 BST on Saturday.

Four other men involved in the incident suffered minor injuries.

Duane Anthony, 40, of Marton Road, Chilwell, is scheduled to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court later.

In addition to the attempted murder charges, Nottinghamshire Police stated that Anthony faces charges of aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified, and driving without valid insurance.
