Firefighters Respond to Large Garage Fire in South Lanarkshire

Fire crews are currently combating a significant blaze at a garage located in South Lanarkshire.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service reported that it was alerted to a "well-developed fire" on Bothwell Road in Uddingston shortly after 18:00.

The garage is situated adjacent to a petrol station and close to a Tesco superstore.

The fire service has deployed six appliances along with a high-reach platform to the scene.

Road Closures and Safety Measures

Police have closed Bothwell Road at Main Street, Douglas Gardens, and Old Glasgow Road, implementing diversions to manage traffic flow.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid the area while emergency services continue their operations.

"We were called to a well-developed fire on Bothwell Road in Uddingston shortly after 18:00," the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service stated.
