"This issue appears to be getting out of hand, and this behaviour is most definitely not welcome within our community," he said.
"It is disgusting and completely unacceptable."

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) reminded individuals who use needles about the dangers of disposing of them irresponsibly.

"Such items can be dangerous, especially to younger children who may not be aware of what they have found," a PSNI spokesperson stated.
