Russian Drone Strike Kills Four in Bohodukhiv

A Russian strike has resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals, including three young children, in a town located west of Kharkiv, according to Ukrainian officials.

Oleg Synegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that two boys, both aged 1, a two-year-old girl, and a 34-year-old man died after a drone struck a house where they were staying.

Additionally, a 35-year-old pregnant woman and a 76-year-old woman sustained injuries in the strike on Bohodukhiv, Synegubov stated.

Renewed Russian Attacks Following Pause

The attack on Bohodukhiv occurred on Tuesday night as Moscow resumed strikes after a week-long pause. This pause had been requested by US President Donald Trump, who asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to observe it during a period of severe cold weather sweeping Ukraine.

Additional Bombing in Slovyansk

Russian forces also dropped seven bombs on the city of Slovyansk around noon on Tuesday, according to Donetsk regional governor Vadym Filashkin, who reported the information on Telegram. Two people, including an 11-year-old girl, were killed in this attack.

Bohodukhiv had previously been targeted by Russian forces earlier in the week.

Drone Strikes Across Ukraine and Infrastructure Damage

On Monday, overnight drone strikes across Ukraine caused power outages affecting tens of thousands and resulted in at least four fatalities, including a mother and her 10-year-old son in Bohodukhiv, Ukrainian officials reported to .

Bohodukhiv is situated west of Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, where a power plant sustained damage earlier in February.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has noted that Russian forces have intensified pressure on the region by targeting transport and energy infrastructure using a record number of ballistic missiles.

Local authorities have declared a state of emergency in the Kharkiv region due to the energy situation.

This escalation follows the expiration of a so-called "energy truce," which was intended to provide a respite for Ukraine's energy sector during temperatures as low as -20°C.

Diplomatic Efforts and Future Talks

Zelensky has stated that the United States aims to see the war with Russia conclude by June and that both parties have been invited to the US for talks scheduled for the following week.

Ukrainian Drone Attack in Russia

Meanwhile, on Wednesday night, a significant attack by Ukrainian drones was reported in Volzhsky, located in Russia's Volgograd region.

According to Andrei Bocharov, Governor of the Volgograd Region, the strike damaged an apartment and caused a fire at a factory.
