ITV's Tipping Point Winner Credits Prize for IVF Success

Jamie McEvoy, a resident of Chorley, Lancashire, who won £3,000 on ITV's game show Tipping Point, has stated that without the cash prize, he and his wife would likely not have been able to have their triplets through IVF.

The episode featuring Jamie was filmed three years prior but was broadcast only recently. At the time of filming, Jamie and his wife Hayley, who met during their studies at the University of Manchester, had a one-year-old son named Otis and were pursuing IVF treatments to expand their family.

"I found out on the morning before filming that the latest [round] had failed. At the time we didn't think we could afford another round."

Jamie revealed that after winning the prize money, he intended to allocate the funds toward further IVF treatments so that Otis could have siblings.

"It was lovely filming the show in Bristol. I'd never been on telly before and [host] Ben Shephard made contestants feel confident – it was a fantastic experience."

IVF Journey and Pregnancy Discovery

The couple underwent additional IVF rounds and treatments, ultimately spending £30,000 in total. In late 2024, Hayley discovered she was pregnant through a home pregnancy test. A subsequent scan three weeks later revealed that she was carrying triplets.

"Obviously I was only expecting one but the nurse's face dropped and she looked grey as she said there were three.
They were very negative as they were warning they could be born premature or with defects - it was very morbid.
I was so happy after all the failed cycles and then it just felt like it was all taken away and I was so gutted.
I know it was very high risk but there was no need to put the fear of God into me."

At the time of the scan, Jamie was away, so Hayley chose to keep the news private to avoid causing him stress.

"I don't think I spoke for a couple of hours, but Hayley was so positive that she didn't let any negativity or caution sway her," Jamie said. "I would have struggled if I hadn't had someone who shone that bright throughout."

Pregnancy and Birth of Triplets

Hayley noted that her midwife was very positive throughout the pregnancy, which she described as "a very good pregnancy for triplets."

The triplets, a girl named Nova and two boys named Jasper and Billy, were born healthy on 4 June 2025.

"At first I was so shocked and happy that they were all here and all healthy," Hayley said.

Family Life with Triplets and Older Brother

Since the birth, Jamie has described the challenges of caring for three newborns, including frequent feeding and interrupted sleep, averaging two to three hours per night.

"We've really got a handle on it now," he added.

Otis, now three years old, has been an exceptional older brother.

"He absolutely adores them and always tries to help and he's such an amazing big brother," Jamie said.

Host's Reaction and Show's Impact

Ben Shephard, the host of Tipping Point, expressed his happiness for the family in a social media post.

"We have loved making this show since it started in 2012 and moments and stories like this make it all the more special."
