Mother Reacts to Daughter's Meningitis Diagnosis
The mother of a young woman hospitalized with meningitis expressed to the BBC that she was "absolutely shocked" upon learning of her daughter's condition.
Khali Goodwin's daughter, Keeleigh, aged 21 and employed in a restaurant, collapsed at her flat in Canterbury on Saturday night. Her flatmate promptly took her to the hospital.
At the hospital, Keeleigh was diagnosed with meningitis. She received antibiotic treatment and has begun to show signs of improvement.
Khali Goodwin mentioned that although she was aware Keeleigh was unwell, meningitis "hadn't even been on my radar." She also praised Keeleigh's flatmate for "saving her life."
