M4 Reopens Following Tree Incident

The M4 motorway has reopened in both directions after a tree fell onto an electricity pylon, resulting in travel disruptions.

National Highways confirmed that the section of the road initially closed between junction 10, near Wokingham, and junction 11, near Reading, on Wednesday morning, returned to normal just before 06:00 GMT on Thursday.

They expressed gratitude to drivers for their patience while Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks undertook "complex repairs" along the affected route.

Previous Closure Unrelated

It is important to note that the same section of the motorway was closed westbound on Tuesday due to a car crash following a police chase; however, the two closures were unrelated.
