Four newly-crowned British champions – Alex Mackay, Madeline Rosher, Angus Doig, and Drew Burns – are among the nine weightlifters chosen to represent Scotland at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Agata Herbert is the only returning athlete from Birmingham 2022, where she finished seventh in the women's 76kg event. She aims to use her experience to support the eight athletes making their Games debut at the SECC from 26-30 July.

"Birmingham was an incredible experience and something I'll never forget," a "proud" Herbert said.
"It's great knowing I can go into these Games with that experience behind me and I want to enjoy every moment of it. I've worked hard to get back to this stage and I'm very excited about the prospect."

Alongside the four British champions, Beth Ashbee and Iain Wilson earned British silver medals last year.

Additionally, 19-year-old Corey Duncan has represented Great Britain at European and world junior championships. Tom Wright secured selection despite having transitioned from CrossFit only two years ago.
