Injury Updates Impact Hearts' Squad
Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts will be without defender Stuart Findlay for six weeks, while record signing Eduardo Ageu is set to miss the remainder of the season due to injury. Additionally, head coach Derek McInnes confirmed that goalkeeper Craig Gordon's shoulder injury may prevent him from participating in Scotland's upcoming March friendlies against Japan and Ivory Coast.
Findlay, 30, has been a crucial player for Hearts, starting all 28 Premiership matches at centre-back. However, he was forced to leave the field during the victory over Falkirk because of a hamstring injury.
Brazilian midfielder Ageu, who has experienced an injury-plagued debut season, made his first start against Rangers at Ibrox but was substituted and now requires thigh surgery, ruling him out until next season.
Gordon, despite limited playing time for Hearts this season, remains a key figure for Scotland as they prepare for their first World Cup finals appearance since 1998.
Other players including Beni Baningime, Oisin McEntee, and Sabah Kerjota are also carrying minor injuries but may still feature in the upcoming match against Aberdeen on Saturday.
"I hope Stuart Findlay and captain Lawrence Shankland, who has been sidelined since 17 January with a hamstring injury, will be available for the final pre-split game against Motherwell on 11 April," McInnes said.
Hearts currently lead the Premiership by four points over Rangers.
