Crystal Palace and Sunderland have emerged as the Premier League clubs with the highest number of goals scored at the World Cup following the group stage, underscoring the extensive international talent now present across England's top division.

Players from both clubs have collectively scored seven goals in the tournament held in North America, placing them ahead of established Premier League giants such as Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United.

Globally, only Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have had more players score goals during the World Cup to date.

This reflects a broader trend of Premier League dominance. A total of 182 players affiliated with Premier League clubs—including returning loanees and those already signed for the 2026-27 season—were selected for the tournament, a figure significantly higher than any other domestic league.

Even when limiting the count to players who were registered with Premier League clubs at the end of last season, the total remains unmatched at 154.

The Premier League's impact extends beyond mere representation. Its players have consistently contributed key moments, with goals coming from representatives of title contenders, European hopefuls, and mid-table teams alike.

Crystal Palace's International Goal Scorers

Crystal Palace's seven goals have been scored by three players. Ismaila Sarr has netted three times for Senegal, Daichi Kamada has scored twice for Japan, and Daniel Munoz has also scored twice for Colombia.

This goal tally highlights Crystal Palace's growing international stature following successive landmark seasons. The Eagles secured the FA Cup in the 2024-25 season—the club's first major trophy—and followed this achievement with victory in the UEFA Europa Conference League the following year. New head coach Pierre Sage now leads a squad whose influence extends well beyond Selhurst Park.

Sunderland's Unexpected World Cup Impact

Sunderland matching Crystal Palace's seven-goal total represents perhaps the tournament's biggest club surprise. After an eight-year absence, the Black Cats returned to the Premier League and finished seventh in the 2025-26 season, quickly establishing themselves on the international stage.

Brian Brobbey has been the leading scorer for Sunderland with three goals for the Netherlands. Additionally, Granit Xhaka (Switzerland), Habib Diarra (Senegal), Wilson Isidor (Haiti), and Nilson Angulo (Ecuador) have each scored, contributing to Sunderland's total of seven goals from five players.
