Antoine Semenyo Highlights Continued Racial Abuse
Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo has brought attention to further racial abuse he has endured this season.
On Monday, the 26-year-old shared a message on his Instagram story stating
"it's started again"accompanied by a screenshot of abusive comments sent from an account.
Earlier this season, while playing for his former club Bournemouth in the opening Premier League match, Semenyo reported racial abuse from a spectator during the 4-2 defeat against Liverpool, a game in which he scored twice.
Mark Mogan, 47, was arrested and charged by Merseyside Police with a racially aggravated section 5 public order offence. However, he denied the charge at Liverpool Magistrates' Court in December.
The court was informed that the trial is scheduled for 22 April.
Manchester City is reportedly providing Ghana international Semenyo with all necessary care and support following this recent isolated incident.
The Premier League and Football Association have been contacted for comment regarding the matter.
