England Men Secure Gold at Hockey World Cup Qualifiers
England's men's hockey team won the World Cup qualification tournament by defeating Pakistan 4-1 in the final held in Egypt.
England had already secured their place in the World Cup finals, scheduled to take place in Belgium and the Netherlands in August, by reaching the final of this qualifying event.
The match saw England take the lead in the 18th minute when Harry Croft's shot was deflected past the Pakistan goalkeeper.
In the second half, Sam Hooper scored two goals to extend England's lead. Although Pakistan's Waleed Rana managed to reduce the deficit, Ben Fox's goal in the 52nd minute ensured England's victory.
Earlier in the week, England had recorded wins against Malaysia, the United States, Egypt, and Japan.
Alongside England and Pakistan, Japan and Malaysia also qualified from the event, with the latter two competing in the bronze medal match.
