Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin Secure Victory at Rally Japan
Elfyn Evans, alongside co-driver Scott Martin, has claimed victory at Rally Japan for the third time in four years, extending his lead at the top of the world championship standings.
The 37-year-old Evans finished 12.8 seconds ahead of last year's champion, Sebastien Ogier, with Sami Pajari completing the podium in third place, 51.4 seconds behind.
"It’s been a great weekend," Evans commented, praising the performance of the car.
When asked about the gap at the top of the world championship, Evans expressed caution, stating that there is still a long way to go and it is too early to make definitive statements.
"We have to enjoy this one now," he added.
Evans was driving the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1.
