Michael 'Venom' Page Set for UFC Paris Middleweight Bout
British fighter Michael 'Venom' Page will compete against Uzbekistan's Nursulton Ruziboev in a middleweight match scheduled for UFC Paris on 5 September.
The 39-year-old, known by the nickname MVP, last competed in March, securing a decision victory over fellow Englishman Sam Patterson in a performance described as uninspiring.
Page joined the UFC in 2023 following a nine-year tenure with Bellator, where he established himself as one of the promotion's most formidable and exciting competitors.
Since joining the UFC, he has won four of five fights but expressed dissatisfaction prior to his bout with Patterson regarding the promotion's matchmaking, stating concerns about not being paired with higher-profile opponents.
"Although 32-year-old Ruziboev is on a three-fight winning streak and is ranked 15th in the UFC's middleweight division, like Patterson he is not a well-known personality within the sport."
The upcoming fight marks Page's return to the middleweight division after competing at welterweight against Patterson. The London-based fighter has indicated his intention to continue competing in both weight classes to expand his range of opponents.
Page has previously advocated for an all-British matchup against former UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards.
