Croft Twins Maintain Unbeaten Records in Altrincham
Welsh boxing twins Ioan and Garan Croft extended their unbeaten professional records on Friday night in Altrincham, marking their debuts with Matchroom in impressive fashion.
Both 24-year-olds secured unanimous points victories on the undercard of the Glenn Byrne versus William Crolla fight, supported by a vociferous group of fans from north Pembrokeshire who made their presence felt throughout the event.
Ioan Croft Dominates Over Eight Rounds
Southpaw Ioan Croft was the first to enter the ring in Altrincham, where he controlled the bout against Serbian opponent Novak Radulovic across eight rounds.
This marked the first occasion the Cardigan ABC-trained fighter competed over eight rounds at the professional level, and he appeared largely untroubled during the contest.
In the fourth round, Croft managed to rock Radulovic, who demonstrated resilience by staying on his feet. The fifth round saw Croft deliver a powerful body attack, yet Radulovic again avoided being knocked down.
Radulovic showed signs of a brief rally in the sixth round, but despite a slower pace in the final rounds, Croft maintained control and secured every round on the judges' scorecards, earning his eighth professional win.
Garan Croft Wins Tough Bout Against Marco Simmonds
Following Ioan's victory, twin brother Garan Croft competed in the super welterweight division, facing a more challenging opponent in England's Marco Simmonds.
While Croft demonstrated superior movement and footwork, his offensive efforts were frequently countered by Simmonds, who managed to inflict a cut above Croft's eye.
Despite the cut, Croft prevailed with a convincing 80-72 unanimous decision, improving his professional record to 6-0.
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn, who signed the brothers six weeks prior, was present ringside to witness their continued progress.
