Italy struggled during their chase, falling to 37-3 after the powerplay overs.
Only Jon-Jon Smuts (24) and Ben Manenti (26) managed to score over 20 runs for Italy, who had previously secured their first-ever T20 World Cup win against Nepal earlier in the tournament.
Joseph (4-30) and Matthew Forde (3-19) led the West Indies bowling attack as Italy were dismissed for 123 runs in 18 overs. West Indies have now bowled out three of their four group-stage opponents, securing their place in the Super 8s.
