Incident at Pontyclun Train Station

A woman sustained serious injuries after being trapped beneath a fallen telegraph pole in the car park of Pontyclun train station.

South Wales Police reported that officers received a call at approximately 12:50 BST on Thursday concerning two women trapped under the pole.

Both women were transported to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff for medical treatment. One of the women has since been discharged from the hospital.

The police indicated ongoing discussions with the Health and Safety Executive regarding the investigation into the incident.
