Small Plane Crash Near Pitsford
Two individuals are receiving hospital treatment following the crash of a small aircraft into a field near Pitsford, close to Northampton.
The incident occurred at approximately 15:50 BST.
Police Response and Investigation
A Northamptonshire Police spokesperson stated:
"We were called to a report of light aircraft crash near Pitsford.
Two people have been taken to hospital for treatment, and an investigation into what happened has begun. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch have been informed."
Fire Service Actions
The county's fire service reported:
"Crews were called shortly after 15:45 BST to reports of a light aircraft coming down in a field, and on arrival firefighters helped to close off nearby roads to ensure emergency vehicles could access the scene.
Two people have been evacuated from the aircraft, and have been left in the care of paramedics. The fire service remains at the scene and is continuing to assist police and ambulance."
Medical Care
The East of England Ambulance Service confirmed that the two patients were transported to University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire for treatment.
