Former Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly and BBC Radio 2 host Vernon Kay have jointly announced their decision to separate after 22 years of marriage.

In a statement shared on Instagram, the couple expressed their mutual respect and care for one another as they navigate this change.

"After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably,"

The pair, who married in September 2003, acknowledged that the decision was difficult but emphasized it was reached through mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both.

They also reassured that their friendship remains strong and that their commitment to parenting remains a priority.
